Brentwood TN: Race for the Cure

Komen Race for the Cure

What a fantastic weekend here in Brentwood TN! I had a great day walking with the Proud Peacocks at the Susan G. Komen for the Cure 5K in Maryland Farms on Saturday. The group was formed in honor of all breast cancer survivors, specific to our group were Tanuja Reddy and Sudha Singh. The Proud Peacocks were among the nearly 12,000 men, women, and children who flooded the streets of Brentwood TN in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

On race day, several local and national companies were in attendance to show their commitment to supporting Breast Cancer Awareness throughout the year. Royal Oak Rewards has teamed up with Susan G. Komen of Greater Nashville to develop a fun and easy way to donate to breast cancer research. By signing up at www.RoyalOakRewards.com/KomenNashville, 6% of your purchases at 20 local restaurants is donated to the Susan G. Komen of Greater Nashville, at no additional cost to you! This is an incredible opportunity for those who want to contribute in an ongoing basis. Some of my favorite restaurants including Qdoba, Wild Iris, Sunset Grill, and South Street, are involved. In fact, just this weekend, I ate at South Street and Sunset Grill!

The Ford Motor Co. was also in attendance, promoting its Warriors in Pink initiative. For the past 15 years, Ford has been a national sponsor of the Race for the Cure, contributing nearly $100 million.

Hats off to all the vendors and residents of our fantastic Brentwood TN community for making this event a success!
